Funnicu Reggiu is the small beach that opens almost perpendicularly below the summit of Mount San Biagio, in the locality Filocaio, south of Port of Maratea.

Its name, which means "royal deposit", refers to a particular prerogative of the legal status of the past Maratea: here was the customs where the goods were unloaded , the same that the city of Maratea imported and exported throughout the ancient Kingdom of Naples .
