The beach of Cala di Mezzanotte  ( Midnight Cove in English) in Acquafredda is situated at the foot of the Mezzanotte Channel, a natural border between Basilicata and Campania.

It 'a stretch of beach shared between the town of Maratea and of Sapri.

It is the first beach of Maratea territory from the North, and the name of Midnight seems to derive sudden shadow that caught the traveler to turn into the valley.

There are four beautiful caves in the surrounding little bay ,  accessible, as the beach, only by sea.
