Fiumicello Santavenere. A nice Gem
Located at 55 mt s.l.m. the village of Fiumicello Santavenere is lying in the bay between Ogliastro (north) and Punta Santavenere (south), where there is, among the many existing rocks, the mighty Calicastro.
The beach of Fiumicello is the most equipped and frequented one of Maratea with convenient parking and bus services.

It is remarkable the promontory of Ogliastro to the north, covered with a dense pine forest that comes almost to touch the sea.
The heart of Fiumicello is Piazzetta del Gesu ' , a little square, with its homonymous church, theater of events and events, theatrical and musical: one of the coolest places in Maratea.
Cape Santavenere
Namely called Santavenere, Fiumicello has also developed urbanistically in the 1950s and 1960s, in parallel with Maratea's economic development.
The area is characterized by the contemporary proximity of the sea and the railway station, and the presence of a concentration of restaurants and hotels, among which is the Santavenere Hotel, the most luxurious hotel in the entire Maratea area.

Fiumicello is easily reached by car or public transport on the Maratea urban bus line, but also by train, adjacent to the Maratea Central Railway Station (see the Maratea Public Transport page for timetables).
