Castrocucco of Maratea
Castrocucco. A nature's masterpiece.

At the southern tip of the coast of Maratea, at the border with Calabria, the territory of Castrocucco represents, for some historians, the site of the ancient Greek city of Blanda from which the current Maratea would have originated.
Castrocucco is characterized by the presence of three important points of interest: The Shoal, the Gnola Beach and the Castrocucco Castle.
The ruins of Castrocucco Castle, once owned by the Labanca barons, and its smaller seaside residence at La Secca bear witness to the only feudal estate within the Maratea area.

The secca of Castrocucco is a stretch of about 1 km of Maratea's southern coast, but it is also called a small but beautiful cove with very shallow waters adjacent to an old baronial palace.
The Secca is the realm of snorkeling due to the presence of rich marine vegetation and fauna, favored by the shallow seabed.
Reachable not only by sea but also on foot or by car, it is undoubtedly one of the most charming locations along the entire coast of Maratea, equipped with facilities and reception services.
