Maremorto beach | Maratea the Port

Maremorto ( dead sea) beach

dead sea of maratea
beach-rank: 5/5

The beach of Maremorta (also known as Cala Tunnara Beach ) is located in the area with the same name halfway between Punta Santavenere and the Port of Maratea.

In the immediate vicinity towards the Port is located the Dock, a small natural cove used for small boats: towards Punta Santavenere instead there is a private beach, which Maremorto is the natural continuation, called Hundred Anchors (hundred hooks)

It is located in what is probably the most beautiful spot on the maratea coast, in a natural setting of baroque beauty, immersed in a pine forest, where the sixteenth-century Torre Sant'Avvenere overlooks from its eponymous promontory, where the worship of the goddess of beauty was practiced in ancient Greek times.

The idyllic scene is completed by the rocks of Calicastru, almost like guardians of the beauty of these places.
