Cala di Mezzanotte (Midnight cove)
The beach of Cala di Mezzanotte in Acquafredda is located at the foot of the Canale di Mezzanotte, the natural border between Basilicata and Campania.
It is a stretch of shoreline shared between the municipalities of Maratea and Sapri.
It represents the first little beach of the Maratea territory coming from the North, and the name Midnight seems to derive from the sudden shadow that would catch the traveler when turning into the valley.
In the surrounding bay, four beautiful caves are accessible only by sea, like the beach.
