The stories of the elders
The grandfather's coat is the old overcoat that hides a secret that Grandfather Francesco didn't have time to reveal to his grandson, who bears his name.
It is a manuscript that the young Francesco discovers and which tells the intense life of his ancestor, Giuseppe, who lived between the 1700s and 1800s, between the convent and the lecture hall, consecration to God and love for wonderful beings, such as his son and the woman who made him a father, between Italy and Argentina.
A story intertwined with political events that have transformed Europe and that unfolds, through the revelation of a dream, across epochal events such as Greek colonization and the Byzantine Empire, the Pauline Mission and the exploits of Charles V.
A story, as has been said, too beautiful to be true, too true to be a novel.
